Apps and device compatibility

KeyCast IPTV apps and supported devices

KeyCast runs on one application — IBO Player — and that single standard is what lets it work identically on a Samsung television, a Fire TV Stick and an Android phone. This page lists every supported platform and how the app reaches it.

On the big screen

Smart televisions and TV operating systems

Turn a television you already own into the whole setup. Install IBO Player from the built-in store, send us the device key it displays, and the grid appears on next launch — no box, no cabling, no engineer.

Samsung (Tizen)

2018 models onward. IBO Player is listed in the Samsung Apps store.

LG Smart TV logo

LG (webOS)

webOS 4.0 and later. Install from the LG Content Store.

Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense, Nvidia Shield and Android boxes.

tvOS via the App Store, plus AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad.

On the move

Phones, tablets and computers

The same line works away from home — on a commute, in a hotel, or on a laptop in a second room — provided only one device is streaming at a time.

MAG and STB-emulator hardware is supported by MAC binding; Windows runs IBO Player through the desktop build.

Why KeyCast standardises on IBO Player

Most providers publish a list of five or six compatible apps and then support none of them properly. When a customer says “the channel is frozen”, the desk has to establish which player, which version and which of its dozen playback settings is responsible before it can even start diagnosing.

KeyCast supports IBO Player and nothing else. One player means one set of screens, one playlist format, one set of buffer settings and one known-good configuration. When you message support, the answer arrives in minutes because there is no guessing about your environment.

Your IBO Player activation is included. There is no separate app purchase and no second invoice — the licence is activated as part of your KeyCast order, on any of the five plans shown on the pricing page.

How activation actually works

IBO Player uses remote playlist binding. You install the app, it shows a MAC address and a device key, you send those two values to us, and we attach your KeyCast playlist from our side. You reopen the app and the grid is there. Nothing is typed into the television with a remote control, which is the single biggest source of setup errors elsewhere.

One device at a time

Your line is bound to one device. You can move it — message support and we rebind to new hardware, usually inside ten minutes — but two screens cannot stream simultaneously on one subscription. A second screen means a second line, which is also how our reseller partners price multi-room households.

What to read next

The complete IBO Player setup guide walks Android, Fire TV, Windows, macOS, LG and Samsung step by step, including the playlist screens and the settings worth changing. Device-specific questions are also covered in the FAQ, and you can check the grid your device will receive on the channel lineup page.
